Release Types and Scheduling

Starting with MicroStrategy 2019, MicroStrategy Platform Releases will occur every December. MicroStrategy highly recommends that customers upgrade to the latest Platform Release and corresponding quarterly Updates. Platform Releases will go out to our entire customer base and will be supported for three years after release, with patches and a regular update cycle to address defects. Platform Release updates will occur every three months.

These releases will cover:

  • Server updates for server-side component improvements without metadata changes
  • Client and tool updates that include improvements and new features with minimal server dependency
